Description Pair of leg rattles constructed of African wild silk moth (Gonometa postica) cocoons strung together; The cocoons are partially split lengthwise and the grubs are removed; Holes are pierced transversely on the split side in two places near either end and two thin thongs of leather are threaded through the holes; A few fragments of ostrich egg shell are places inside each cocoon, and the whole allowed to dry; In performance each dancer wears a pair wound around his legs and fastened securely; Normally used by men, women may use them when dancing alone.

Description Small handheld rattle made from peeled stick that is bent to form a small circular hoop and is loosely coil-wrapped with sinew and dyed (black) plant fiber, possibly spruce or conifer root; Peeled cedar stick is lashed across center of hoop to form a cross brace and/or handhold and is also loosely wrapped in dyed (black and red) plant fiber, similar to hoop; Attached to hoop by means of leather thong and sinew are four deer or antelope toe bones, twelve sections of deer or antelope hooves, and one larger deer or antelope (?) bone.

Description A: Small percussion instrument in the shape of a frog, carved from a single piece of wood and painted pink, with black and red accents; Pointed ridges have been carved into the frog’s back; Interior of frog’s body has been hollowed out, leaving a circular space for the drumstick to fit inside as if it is being held in the frog’s mouth; B: Short cylindrical wooden drumstick that is truncated at one end and tapered to a blunt point at the opposite end; Entire drumstick is painted pink; Instrument is played by running the drumstick over the ridged back of the frog.

Description Handheld rattle carved in two halves, each consisting of a oval bowl-shaped section and an elongated handle; Two two halves are probably glued together and the edges of the carved portions are tied together with cotton string in five places; Bowl-shaped portion of rattle is shallowly carved on front with humanoid face with large blue eyes with black pupils, flaring nostrils and an open mouth with bared teeth; Mouth, nostrils, and areas on cheeks and forehead are painted a dull red color; Large oval area on reverse face of rattle is carved with shallow cross-hatched lines and painted dull red, enclosed within a black framing band; Several pebbles are inside rattle to make noise.
